World’s first online music village moving to daily shows
Announcement to be made June 12, 2011
Thousands of fans have tuned in to watch the first live performances from a new online village devoted to broadcasting “real” country music.
HillbilliesVille has recorded more than 11,600 unique visitors since trial live streaming events began eight weeks ago, prompting plans for more frequent cyber concerts.
The new site created by Nashville-based Global Village Entertainment Inc (GVE) offers an exciting alternative to repetitive country content on TV, radio and online.
It broadcasts performances by well known and up-and-coming artists that are streamed live and exclusively to HillbilliesVille members around the world.
The strong early interest means HillbilliesVille is now planning to introduce daily live shows.
GVE founder Kevin Kiepe said details of new live steam events and new HillbilliesVille artists would be announced on June 9, 2011.
“We have been delighted by the number of people already tuning in to our live broadcasts and replays,’’ Mr Kiepe said.
“The early feedback has been fantastic and many of our members and guests have also been actively sharing their views and chatting live on the unique HillbilliesVille social forum during streaming events,’’ he said.
Live performances began on March 14 with events including never before released tracks co-produced by country legend Waylon Jennings, hot new female vocalist Juelane Porter and Mark Dooley, Clay Canfield, Tommy Townsend, The O'Donnells, Fidel Hernandez, Gary Gibson and Jeff Garris, Ken Mellons, Jeff "Hoot" Gibson and many more.
The growing list of HillbilliesVille artists have been thrilled at the chance to perform to a much wider global audience and interact directly with fans who are village members.
Mr Kiepe said GVE was now in the process of taking HillbilliesVille to the next level with a new site design, an online presenter and many other extras.
“We have temporarily halted our live broadcasts to put these expansion plans into action but replays of the first live streams are still available on our video channel,’’ he said.
“The world’s first online country music village has been a long time in the planning so it’s been amazing to see our vision come to life for fans.
“I can’t wait to unveil the new and improved HillbilliesVille Website and platform, and announce more of the top country artists who will be performing and participating in daily live streaming events including daily news and events reviews and previews”
Membership of is FREE! To HillbilliesVille video channel and exclusive access to all live events costs only US$0.33 (33 cents) per day and entitles fans to join in all major live stream events, together with access to the exclusive video channel, news and online forums.
